Exclusive: AC Milan begin talks to sign Croatian star, Diego Costa is the no.1 alternative

Andre Silva is not the only centre forward AC Milan will sign this season. The Portuguese star has just joined the rossoneri but another striker will be arriving to the San Siro over the next few weeks given that both Carlos Bacca and Gianluca Lapadula are going to leave the club in the summer.

According to an exclusive report of our transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan will meet representatives of Fiorentina by the end of the week and will open transfer talks to sign Nikola Kalinic. Although the Croatian striker has a € 50 million release clause, Fiorentina are open to sell him for a fee in the region of € 35 million. AC Milan will offer € 22-23 million but hope that an agreement can be reached for € 30 million.

If AC Milan will fail to sign the Croat, Chelsea star Diego Costa will become their main alternative. Jorge Mendes will offer his star client to the Serie A giants but the player’s huge salary (€ 11 million a year) and Chelsea’s high economic demands make Diego Costa not an easy target to sign. Kalinic remains the rossoneri’s priority but surprises are always around the corner, especially with this AC Milan side.
