Exclusive: AC Milan closing in on their fifth summer signing

AC Milan have made some steps forwards towards the signing of Atalanta starlet Andrea Conti. The Italian right-back is Europe’s most prolific defender in the 2016/17 campaign and AC Milan have made him their summer transfer priority to strengthen their defensive right flak.

Conti was linked with joining Napoli and Chelsea as well but the rossoneri are the only club to have made concrete steps towards his signings.

The player’s agent has recently confirmed that his client has already agreed personal terms with AC Milan but has also confirmed that the two clubs have yet to reach an economic agreement.

Calciomercato.com has exclusively learned that AC Milan have made their opening bid to sign the promising right-back.

According to our sources AC Milan have offered € 20 million plus Luca Vido and Gianfilippo Felicioli, two of the best products of their academy. Vido has already given green light to move to AC Milan, whilst Felicioli has not agreed a move to Atalanta yet.

If the player will reject the chance to move to Atalanta, AC Milan may add Matteo Pessina or Gianluca Lapadula in the deal given that Atalanta boss Giampiero Gasperini is a long time admirer of the latter. Conti could become the 5th summer signing of AC Milan after the likes of Franck Kessié, Mateo Musacchio, Ricardo Rodriguez and Andre Silva.
