Exclusive AC Milan: Montella wants another centre-back

AC Milan have already completed the signing of Argentinean centre-back Mateo Musacchio but the former Villareal star may not be the only the only central defender joining the rossoneri in the summer.

Sources have told calciomercato.com that Vincenzo Montella has asked Fassone and Mirabelli to sign another centre defender in order to be ready to play with any kind of system, including with a three-man defence.

Montella did normally play with four man at the back in his first season in charge of AC Milan and he wants to use the same 4-3-3 system also during the incoming campaign.
The Italian, however, wants to be prepared for any kind of circumstance and has demanded the signing of a new  right-footed centre back who can play in a three-man defence.

No secret that AC Milan are long time admirers of Gonzalo Rodriguez who is currently available as a free agent. The Argentinean has already played under Montella and would be open for a reunion with his former boss. Gregorz Krychowiak is also a name on AC Milan’s agenda. The versatile midfielder can either play in the middle of the park or as a central defender in a three-man line.
