Exclusive: How Inter managed to sign Skriniar despite interest of Juve and AC Milan

Milan Skriniar is arguably one of the best footballers in this first part of the Serie A campaign. The rock-solid centre-back is imposing himself as one of the best defenders in Italy and his summer € 20 million signing is now regarded as one of the bargains of the past summer transfer campaign.

Our transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano has exclusively learned how Inter managed to welcome the services of the Slovakia International who a summer transfer target of Juventus and AC Milan as well.

This past February Ausilio met his close friend Antonio Romei in Rome ahead of Inter’s away clash against Roma. Romei is one of Sampdoria’s lawyers as well as Massimo Ferrero’s right-hand man.

At that time media wrote about a meeting for Muriel, truth is Inter were interested in Patrik Schick and Milan Skriniar.

The nerazzurri wanted to sign them both but they eventually chose the talented defender with Schick who went to Rome instead.

Atletico Madrid had also set their sights on Skriniard but the Colchoneros could not sign him due to transfer ban. Inter managed to sign the 22-year-old on a permanent deal worth € 20 million plus add-ons, one of the bargain of the summer, a deal that Inter had set up months before the summer transfer window.
