Exclusive: Inter resume interest in Man City defender after meeting with Jorge Mendes

Jorge Mendes was in Milan yesterday. He attended an event in Milan city centre and had a chance to have a chat with the nerazzurri director of football Walter Sabatini (pictured by our Alessandro Cosattini).

The Portuguese agent is the representative of Eliaquim Mangala who has only played 19 minutes in the current Premier League campaign and had been linked with a move to Inter in summer as well. Inter are desperate to sign a new centre-back in January after the injury of their fourth-choice defender at the back: Zinho Vanheusden.

Another name on Inter’s shortlist is Alex Teixeira who is currently contracted with Jiangsu Suning, the Chinese group that owns the majority stake in Inter. The Brazilian is also a client of Jorge Mendes and came close to joining Liverpool in January 2015.

Inter also want to sign an attacking midfielder and the likes of mesut Ozil and Javier Pastore are also being included in the nerazzurri shopping list.
