EXCLUSIVE: Juve overtake Napoli in hunt for Saponara

Napoli vs Juventus –as reported in the last days- is also an eternal challenge on the transfer market. The two clubs are –for example- in competition in the hunt for Empoli attacking midfielder Riccardo Saponara, and in this case, the bianconeri are about to win the duel.
The azzurri wanted to sign the player last summer, while the Serie A defending champions have always worked in prospective: almost one year ago, the Piedmont’s club obtained the option to outbid an eventual offer; the Tuscans had in any case no intention to let the former AC Milan man leave, and they considered insufficient the €12 million offered by Napoli.
In the mid time, the performances of the 24-year-old have been constantly improving, and Juve have kept on working undercover. The bianconeri will offer to the azzurri between €15 and €20 million, plus the 26-year-old striker Gianluca Lapadula, currently playing for Pescara.
