EXCLUSIVE Moratti: ‘Inter players still trust Mancini’

Inter are passing through hard times as Roberto Mancini’s side could even fail to qualify to Europe after having been table leaders at the beginning of the season.

Former Inter president Massimo Moratti talked exclusively to CM.com to share his thoughts on the team’s troubling times.

Mr. Moratti, rumours suggest players do not trust Mancini anymore. What do you think about it?
“I can’t know it for sure, but I don’t believe things are going this way. I think players are having no reactions right now and it seems that this moment is a bit depressing for everyone. I am sorry for not having seen any kind of determination against Juve.”

What do you recommend to Inter fans? Is it still worth to go to San Siro to watch the Coppa Italia game against Juve?
“Going to the stadium is always interesting. Even when it is not easy since the very beginning. It’s always worth watching a game.”

Can Mancini drag Inter out of crisis?
“Absolutely yes. He has to keep calm and find the right reference points inside the club.”

    How can they help him?
“Everyone has their own methods, but I think they should support him.”

Do you think Zanetti could cover other roles at the club?
“Of course yes, he has plenty of experience and I think the club is already working in this direction.”

What do you think about Gianni Infantino’s election as new FIFA President?
“I am very happy about it, he deserves it. He is a man who knows already how the ‘machine’ works and he has been doing great thins so far.”
