Exclusive: the reason Alvaro Morata chose Man Utd over AC Milan
Morata has agreed a five-year deal at the Old Traford even if he had also given his green light to move to AC Milan a few months ago.
The Serie A giants had offered Morata a € 5 million-a-year deal for the next five seasons, the former Juve man was open to a move to the San Siro but when he became aware of the interest of Manchester United he opted to move to the Old Trafford instead.
José Mourinho has also played a vital role in Morata’s Manchester United switch. The Special One has been calling Morata almost every day since May begun, Morata has appreciated Mourinho’s effort to take him to England and has also opted to move to England in order not to ‘betray’. Morata had promised Juve he wouldn’t have played for another Italian team and, at least for now, he has kept his word.
