Before Leicester City were crowned champions on Monday, a delegation from the club had already met their Juventus counterparts to talk about Simone Zaza.

The future of the Italain international will of course, be settled in-house in Turin but the 24-year-old has already been the subject of much speculation having already been linked with moves to West Ham United last summer and Crystal Palace in January. Now he is being courted by the team of the moment Leicester City.
 

In order as it happened; the first contact was reported by calciomercato.com in April, that intermediaries from the Premier League champions having met Zaza’s agent Christian Maifredi to sound out a potential switch to England. The Foxes are after attacking reinforcements and the Juve man’s profile fits perfectly. Zaza has obviously had time to think about the situation and with things as they now stand having just won the Premier League and with direct entry into the Champions League, he may well decide to finally make his move. There is also the small matter of having a starring role at another club and an significantly increased salary.  

For their part, the position of the executives at Juventus seems to be clear; if the right bid is tabled then they will be happy to do business over Zaza. At the end of the current campaign, the player will sit down with Juve officials and discuss his potential role (if any) in a revamped forward-line next season. Then there is the subject of the transfer fee. In January, the bianconeri rejected a €27 million offer from Crystal Palace and are thought to want significantly more for their player. This will naturally make it unlikely that any other Serie A side will be able to afford to do business which leaves the natural alternative the Premier League, starting with Leicester City.
