Exclusive: Zenga’s new appointment could be just around the corner

Walter Zenga was sacked as Wolverhampton boss yesterday, but a new job is already waiting the former Inter goalkeeper who left the Wolves in 18th place in the English Championship table.

Calciomercato.com has exclusively learned that Serie A strugglers Crotone are considering hiring Zenga if under fire boss Davide Nicola fails to snatch good results in the next two Serie A games.

Nicola is being criticized by Crotone fans of late as new Serie A boys only have one point in the table after the opening nine games.  Crotone are also the most beaten defence of the league with 20 goals already allowed so far.

Crotone face Fiorentina tonight, but the most important game for Nicola’s future will be the next one against Chievo Verona at home. If Nicola fails to win that game, then Walter Zenga will be the first manager to be offered the Crotone job.

Zenga, a former coach of Catania and Sampdoria, is also being linked with the Inter job if De Boer is sacked.
