Chelsea: Conte makes u-turn over the future of Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas will remain a Chelsea player next season Starsport claims this morning. Blues boss Antonio Conte had been looking to off-load the 30-year-old Spaniard but the journal now states that the Italian tactician has shelved those plans.

Despite a source close to the club stating that they had “tried a few times to sell him”, his performances towards the end of last season look to have won over Conte however, the reports states that if the champions receive a substantial offer, they will still consider selling.

Fabregas has two years left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge and Conte wants strength in depth to mount a challenge both domestically and in the Champions League and despite rumours of interest from both Manchester United and AC Milan, the Spanish international looks set to remain in place.

Cesc arrived in West London in 2014 and has now made over 100 appearances for the club.
