Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri rarely used the ex Bologna player, and now Giaccherini is searching for new grazing pastures.

A move within Italy seems most likely, with Fiorentina and Bologna both interested. According to what has been reported by il Mattino, both clubs will soon be courting the Italian midfielder, who is at the margins of the technical project of Sarri. Giaccherini will be looking to rediscover the form that helped him to be called up to the national team a few short years ago. Last year looked to be a year of revival for the former Azzurri player with Bologna, only to be denied quality playing time after his transfer to Napoli. At age 32, Giaccherini will be perhaps more thoughtful about his next club, with one eye on playing time and another on Russia in 2018...
