Former Arsenal promise slams 'authoritative' Gattuso

Arsenal fans may remember who Arturo Lupoli is. A few years ago he was regarded as one of the most promising footballers of the Gunners’ academy but after he moved to Italy his performances never lived up to expectations.

Lupoli, who is now 30-year-old, hit out at one of his former managers Gennaro ‘Rino’ Gattuso in an interview released with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Two years ago I gained Serie A promotion with Frosinone and move to Pisa was a huge mistake. Something didn’t work with Gattuso. The board was literally absent and he [Gattuso] was behaving like and authoritative father.”

“Pisa was a real nightmare for me, I don’t think Gattuso’s behaviour had much to do with the world of football.”

“My biggest mistake, however, was to return to Serie A. My agents persuaded me to move to Fiorentina even if I had already agreed to join Napoli. Fiorentina offered me a better deal but I never player under Prandelli that season and in the summer no club wanted to sign me anymore.”
