Gazzoni wants Juve, Fiorentina to repay €110 million in Calciopoli damages

On his 80th birthday, former Bologna president Giuseppe Gazzoni has revealed that he has demanded Juventus and Fiorentina to pay him €113 million in compensation, claiming damages for the Calciopoli scandal's role in bankrupting the Emilian club and his family’s business.

“A shocking request?" Gazzoni told La Nazione.

"Some of the accused's declarations are shocking, not to mention certain supreme court sentences!"

The former Bologna owner detailed exactly to what extent Calciopoli has hurt him over the past ten years, even since the Felsinei were relageted in 2004-2005. They'd have stayed up if only one of the guilty parties had been immediately caught and (presumably) sent down in their stead.

"Would it be sufficient to recover from what I have gone through? No, even my neighbours began to ignore me, I have lived in the anxiety for a long time.

"I've been gradually rehabilitated by the court of public opinion, now I am waiting for financial compensation.

"Do I cost more than Pogba? Well, please tell me how much ten years of my life that have been ruined should cost! Our property is for sale!"
