Former defender reveals AC Milan transfer ambitions

Former AC Milan defender Luca Antonini has opened up about the rossoneri's transfer plans for the upcoming January transfer window and has given his opinion about the club's possible signing of Cesc Fabregas.

Antonini was talking to RMC Sport recently and he was asked in the interview about what Milan will look to do in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Italian said: "At Casa Milan they know what they have to do: important players are needed at European level.

"A bit like the ones that used to be in the past few years. Milan still has that appeal that attracts the great champions, and this is very important. Then the presence of Leonardo and Maldini could attract even more great players."

When asked about Milan possibly signing Cesc Fabregas from Chelsea in January, Antonini said: "I hope he can get here because he is used to playing on important stages and could make the leap in quality in the Rossoneri midfield."

Milan are fourth in the Serie A, but have been knocked out of the UEFA Europa League already.
