Juventus' interest in the Croatian is long-standing: they tried to sign him when he was still a Dinamo Zagreb youngster, in a tough head-to-head race with Manchester City. In the end, neither team got him.
This doesn't mean that Juventus are going full steam ahead on Kovacic: he's still a reserve option, as long as Henrikh Mkhitaryan. They're liked, but not priorities: the Binaconeri still want to go after Miralem Pjanic and André Gomes.
