Former Milan keeper Ielpo: “Bakayoko should stay at Milan”

The former Milan goalkeeper, Mario Ielpo has had his say on the Bakoyoko transfer situation today. Having impressed for large parts of the season, Milan looked increasingly keen on signing the Frenchman on a permanent basis. However following a tumultuous month that has seen Bakoyoko embroiled in a number of controversies, on and off the pitch, it now looks as if Milan will return the midfielder to Chelsea after the season ends.

However Ielpo feels he would still represent a good signing for the Rossoneri: "I think Bakayoko's value is established, as a player on the pitch. I think the qualification in the Champions League can change a lot. AC Milan qualifying would have a certain availability and could be redeemed. If he were to remain it would be a good thing.”
