French striking sensation backtracks on his "dream" to play for Real Madrid

French striking sensation Kylian Mbappe has quashed any rumours regarding a move to Real Madrid this summer. The 18-year-old Monaco forward, who has set the football world alight this season, has been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish giants after claiming he dreamt of playing for the club one day.

Speaking at the French national team’s training camp ahead of the latest round of World Cup 2018 qualifiers, the youngster was once again asked about those comments but he backtracked slightly from his original statement when he explained that; “I actually said that I dreamt of being able to play alongside Zinedine Zidane as a player, not as my coach. He is a great manager for sure and has achieved great results with Real but it’s Zizou as a player that I wish I’d had the chance to play alongside.”

Mbappe remains one of the hottest names of the summer transfer window with a host of big name clubs courting his signature. The two Manchester clubs and Chelsea lead the way in England with PSG and Barcelona, as well as Real Madrid, also in contention.
