From Conte to Sousa: Roma consider alternatives to Di Francesco

Even if Roma have confirmed their trust in their manager Eusebio Di Francesco, President James Pallotta seems to be fed up with the Italian tactician who failed to win against Cagliari reduced into 10 men last weekend.

Baldini and Monchi are trying to calm Pallotta’s fury but if more negative results will arrive, the Giallorossi could decide to change their manager during the January break.
These are the four candidates considered by the Giallorossi:

CONTE – A dream, not impossible. Roma have begun preliminary talks and are open to waiting until June to appoint him. However, Roma can’t offer him a huge wage like his last one at Chelsea and Conte doesn’t want a project only based on youths. However, the former Chelsea boss wants to return to Italy and Roma can make his dream come true.

PAULO SOUSA – A pupil of Baldini who wanted him before he moved to Fiorentina from Basel. Sousa has officially announced his desire to move to Roma but his words were not taken very well by both Monchi and Di Francesco. In addition to that, Roma fans can’t forget his choice to join Juve instead of Roma when he was a footballer. The Portuguese remains the easiest target to get in case Di Francesco is sacked.


 
MONTELLA – He is a very close friend of Di Francesco and he’d need to speak with EDF before accepting a potential offer. His last experiences at Samp, Milan, and Sevilla, however, leave some doubts in Rome control room.
 
BLANC – He is the weakest candidate. His last job was in 2016 at PSG. He’s only coached in France and his arrival in Rome, at the moment, is highly unlikely.
