From England: Chelsea heading the queue for Mahrez

Riyad Mahrez could be the third signing of Chelsea this season. The Algeria International impressed with Leicester City last term scoring 17 goals in 37 Premier League appearances and giving the Foxes a vital help to win the first Premier League title in their history.

According to the Daily Express, Barcelona have called themselves out of the race to sign the 25-year-old who has also attracted the interest of Manchester Untied and Arsenal.

As Teamtalk points out, Mahrez has snubbed a £ 80.000-a week contract at Leicester, looking to change club this summer. The Premier League champions will ask more than £ 30 million to let one of their most shiny star leave the King Power Stadium and Chelsea seem to be eager to meet both the club and the player’s request given that Mahrez has reportedly asked a salary around £ 120.000-a week contract.

His current £ 35.000-a year deal expires in three years time and Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has recently claimed that Mahrez has not asked to leave the club, adding that he does not expect him to leave following the path of N’Golo Kante who has just completed a £ 32 million switch to the Stamford Bridge.
