From Spain: Modric to win the Balon d'or?

Luka Modric had a pretty impressive past season as he won the UEFA Champions league with Real Madrid and helped the Croatian national team reach a historic World Cup final against France (where they lost). It was a very special 2018 year for the midfielder as it seems like he may be the one to lift the Balon d'or in the coming weeks.

According to Spanish news site Onda Cero (via IlBianconero), it seems like like Luka Modric will be the 2018 Balon d'or winner. Still according to the Spanish news site, Antoine Griezmann (of Atletico Madrid) and Cristiano Ronaldo (of Juve but previously of Real Madrid) will complete the podium. In this scenario, PSG's Kylian Mbappé and Real Madrid's Raphael Varane wouldn't be in the final three. Time will tell as we should have more news on the matter in the coming days.
