Gattuso: 'Ancelotti is right, play should be stopped for racist chanting'

Under-fire AC Milan head coach Gennaro Gattuso spoke at his press conference today ahead of the clash between AC Milan and Spal in Serie A tomorrow. If Milan fail to win, Gattuso will likely be dismissed from his role as head coach - with the Rossoneri reportedly already shortlising possible replacememnts for the former Milan player. Gattuso, speaking at the press conference, said the following:

"Surely I agree with the words of Ancelotti, it is right to stop. They are 4 idiots who make the verses, not the whole stadium. Let's not forget the phrases about Superga and Scirea, it's a problem and you have to bring back respect. We are all the same white or black.

"I think we are a family, we are all in the case and we have to let in as little draft as possible. There is so much disappointment, we have fixed the defense but we do not score. In the first half in Frosinone we did not do well, we also risked losing it. We have to be aware of having made a disastrous December, now we have the chance to shoot at 31 points, it has not happened for years. From July I listen that I have to leave, the players have to give their best and not for me. I feel the trust of the company, I have to think about my players.

"I want to continue working because I think that, in these months, I have not been combing dolls with my staff. We are going through a negative patch but there is a willingness to do well. I have to thank those who gave me the opportunity to train Milan, I'm used to being always in question, I'm used to it. The important thing is to have the group in hand, not my future

"Higuain? This year is more dribbling than last year, same balls touched, misses the sting and the goal. He misses this. After the expulsion gives the feeling that it is not very well on the physical level but it is not so, is fine. In the second half of Frosinone came out. I feel that someone called him every day, I think he will stay here, then if the opposite happens I will be wrong, but from what we said, he will stay here."
