Genoa, Izzo: ‘Happy to be back’
Genoa star Armando Izzo made return to action last week-end after being banned for failing to denounce match fixing. The Italian, however, has always denied his involvement in the case.
“I am happy to return to action”, the defender told Il Secolo XIX.
“It was an incredible emotion to play the last game [away to Cagliari]. The end of last season was a nightmare, now I am happy and it’s great that we managed to win.”
“We must focus game by game, remain humble and work hard. We must believe in ourselves. I want to play the World Cup, I think I can manage and I will do my best to reach this achievement.”
