Ronaldo was up against Griezmann and Mbappe for the award, though the Portuguese striker came out on top in the end. Here's what he had to say to the crowd present. 

 

"As I said before, it's an honour. Thank you to my family, friends and the staff. It's been a tough year, but I've won many trophies. I'm so glad to win one more award, 2019 is a new year and I want to win trophies with Juventus. My new life is at Juve," he concluded.
