Here’s Italy plan to lure Conte away from Chelsea

Italy reportedly want current Chelsea boss Antonio Conte to be their next manager, as they look to draw plans to lure him away from Stamford Bridge.

Gian Piero Ventura was sacked as the Italy boss earlier this week after the Azzurri failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup following their 1-0 aggregate loss to Sweden in the Play-off rounds for gaining a ticket to Russia.

There have been murmurs of discontent at Chelsea about Conte’s ongoing reign at Stamford Bridge, despite him stating otherwise. Conte, who recently talking to the press ahead of Chelsea’s game against West Brom, said: "It's not a great time for my country. Missing the World Cup after sixty is a disaster, everyone knows how important football is in Italy. And the Federation must find the right solution to improve this situation. "

Speaking of a possible comeback to the national team, Conte said:  "I think it's very difficult at this time. There are so many rumors, but I think Figc should take the right time to find the right solution for Italian football." It is the last sentence that is the most crucial. It almost seems as if the former Juventus boss is pleading to the FIGC to give him time before he heads off from Chelsea and they must wait before he leaves.

Conte currently has a contract at Chelsea and it would only take a sacking for him to join before the end of the season, when the possibilities of him leaving the London side are more.

FIGC can wait till the end of the season and it seems likely that Italy Under-21s boss Luigi Biagio takes over before Conte comes in. One thing is for certain: Conte wants to manage Italy.
