Here's why you can ignore many Alexis Sanchez rumors

Over the next four weeks, rumors will be thrown around, both with and without basis, about a number of soccer’s biggest stars. Perhaps the biggest name that will be the center of speculation is Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean has been linked to the biggest clubs in the world. Barcelona, Real Madrid, both Manchester clubs, among others. Despite the big money at stake, there are two destinations you can cross off the speculation list.

The forward has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer. In the event Neymar leaves (or even if he stays), Alexis would take a spot at the top of their attack. However, anything you read or hear about linking him to Paris can be ignored.

With the club set to make Kylian Mbappe’s deal permanent, and extend Marco Verratti’s deal in the summer, they will not be able to spend the money on Alexis. To be clear, they likely have the money, but buying him would incur serious penalties for overspending from UEFA, which PSG is keen to avoid.

Additionally, anything you see about him moving to Juventus, or any Italian club, is pure hot air. Even if he moves on a free transfer, he’s going to pull down an extremely high six-figure per-week salary. Think in the region of 500,000 euros per week…minimum. Juventus, let alone any Serie A team, will be able to afford him.
