Higuain: ‘Bonucci not irreplaceble’

Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain has released an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport to talk about the Old Lady’s summer transfer campaign as well as the incoming season.

The Argentine striker begun his interview with a thought on Leonardo Bonucci who has just joined AC Milan.

“Everybody must do what makes him happy, personal choices must be respected. He was an important player for us but now it’s a different thing. He had been helping us for many years, now he has joined a direct rival but Juventus are still very strong and our players can replace him.”

“We must confirm what we’ve been doing for the last six years. Everybody talks in the summer, but in the end Juventus always win. We can’t take things for granted, our opponents have made great signings and we have a thrilling campaign ahead of us.”

“I was left impressed by Douglas Costa. He has physical strength and makes great crosses.”

“I didn’t know Dani Alves was leaving. I hoped I could play with him for many years, I am sorry he left but we must respect his choice.”

“Dybala’s age is particular. I joined Real Madrid when I was 19 and I left when I was 25, everybody loves playing with big players, I can’t force him to stay at Juventus, he’s happy here and we want him to stay. He must stay to win the scudetto and the Coppa Italia, if we win the Champions League then it’s even better. Juventus can offer him to be a regular starter in one of the best teams in the world. People love Dybala, he’s young and he is happy here. Paulo knows what’s the best thing for his future and we want him to stay.”
