How Inter want to steal €65m defender from under Man Utd and Juve noses

Manchester United and Juventus are known to be long time admirers of Atletico Madrid star José Maria Gimenez, 22.

The Uruguay International is being struggling with game time so far this season and several top European clubs are being linked with welcoming his services. According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Inter have joined Manchester United and Juventus in race to sign the 22-year-old.

The contract of Gimenez has become a kind of a mystery in the world of football as the Colchoneros have not officially renewed it. Several reports in Spain and Italy, however, claim the La Liga giants have already renewed the contract of their star until 2020 (confirming his € 65 million release clause) and that an official announcement is expected in the coming weeks.

Inter, however, want to sign the talented defender and according to the Italian paper the nerazzurri hope their new signing Matias Vecino will persuade his compatriot and national team teammate to move to the San Siro rather than to the Old Trafford or the Allianz Stadium.
