Ibrahimovic declares he'll be back at Man Utd...in November

Released by Manchester United at the end of the season, striker Zlatan Ibrahimovich has told reporters that he intends to return to play for the club in November. According to The Daily Star, the 35-year-old Swede, who is recovering from a serious knee injury picked up whilst on Europa League duty last season, was in Salford last week to watch his son’s training with and he reportedly told staff he hopes to be fit in five months.

The journal now suggests that United are planning to offer the player a short-term deal after giving him the permission to continue his rehabilitation at their Carrington training complex. Zlatan scored 28 goals last term for the Red Devils before picking up his injury which scuppered the possibility of him extending his stay at Old Trafford by a further 12 months.

If the larger than life Swede does get to pull on a United jersey again, it would be an astonishing tale of one man’s fight against adversity.
