Inter, Ausilio: ‘Why Perisic didn’t join Man Utd…’

Inter director of football Piero Ausilio talked to Premium Sport on Sunday afternoon: “We have the right team for our target, Spalletti talks to everybody. Each player is motivated and he is very happy with all of them. We must think very carefully about every transfer activity, it’s not easy to sell our players because Spalletti is happy with everybody.”

“I don’t love the January transfer window. There are not many chances to sign players. It barely happens to have a good chance. We had it with Gagliardini last season but, I repeat, it is rare to see it happen.”

Manchester United made several bids to sign Ivan Perisic in the summer but Inter blocked the Croatian’s move extending his contract a few weeks ago. Ausilio did explain why the nerazzurri refused to sell the talented attacking winger: “We know how important he [Perisic] is”, Ausilio said. “He is happy to stay at Inter, he is a great pro, he takes care of every small detail and I think one can see it. He is a top player to me.”
