Inter managed to meet terms of FFP sanctions and Mourinho did not take it well

Serie A giants Inter have brilliantly managed to fulfil financial obligations after breaching the Fifa Financial Fair Play last summer. The nerazzurri managed to cash in € 30 million and are now ready to spend big money to strengthen their team.

Manchester United executives hoped Inter would have not managed to meet terms of FFP as that would have forced them to sell Ivan Perisic on the cheap. Inter rejected Man United’s € 40 million opening bid telling the Red Devils that the player’s price-tag is between € 55 and € 60 million.

The nerazzurri are not obliged anymore to sell the Croat and are now stronger in terms of negotiations for their big players.

Our transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano points out which players Inter manage to sell in order to cash in € 30 million.

Ever Banega’s sale was the bigger one. The Argentinean made return to Sevilla for € 9 million after joining Inter as a free agent last year. Senna Miangue and Federico Dimarco have been sold to Cagliari (€ 3,5 million) and Sion (€ 4 million) respectively (Inter have a buy-back clause of € 10 million for both players). Primavera defender Fabio Eguelfi has joined Atalanta for € 2 million and his teammate Gravillon is a new player of Benevento for € 1.5 million. The last player who has left Inter is Gianluca Caprari who joined Sampdoria for a fee close to € 15 million.

Inter have meet terms of FFP and now they expected to retain Perisic, blocking his Manchester United move. According to Il Corriere dello Sport, José Mourinho did not take Inter’s decision to keep the player very well as the Croat was one of the Special One’s transfer priorities. Mourinho wanted to sign the player on the cheap and now he will have to invest almost € 60 million to sign him, provided that Inter will still be open to sell.
