Inter news: Brazilian clubs, Porto want Seleçao star

It appears that a number of clubs are lining up to take Brazil defender Miranda off Inter’s clutches.

The former Atletico Madrid defender was reportedly close to leaving the Nerazzurri this summer, and has lost his starting job to new arrival to Stef De Vrij.

Beyond Porto - Miranda’s ideal destination - it appears that a number of Brazilian clubs also want the former Seleçao captain, namely Sao Paulo.

There was further speculation when Luciano Spalletti indicated that he preferred players who built from the back.

Yet the star centre-back is reportedly close to renewing with Inter anyway. Though he was tempted to leave in summer, sporting director Piero Ausilio quickly put paid to any notion of a departure by heading to Liverpool, where Brazil were about to play Croatia in a pre-World Cup friendly, to tell the 33-year-old that Inter were counting on him.

The idea would be to keep him for another season. Will it happen?
