Inter set out their strategy to try to keep hold of Croatian international, Man Utd target

Inter Milan are prepared to dig in and battle to keep hold of their Croatian midfielder Ivan Perisic. The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a €40M move to Manchester United but incoming coach Luciano Spalletti is determined to keep the player at the San Siro to remain an integral part of his squad next term.

THE BACKGROUND:

Quite simply, Inter have to off-load €30M of talent by the end of June to comply with FIFA Financial Fair-Play regulations imposed on them. The sale of Perisic would of course, balance the books accordingly but according to Sky Sports (via calciomercato.com), Spalletti and sporting director Piero Ausilio have other ideas up their sleeves on how to raise the capital.

With Perisic’s international team-mate Marcelo Brozovic now a target for new Zenit coach Roberto Mancini, Colombian defender Jeison Murillo pleasing to Crystal Palace and Everton, Argentine midfielder Ever Banega wanted in China and Italian defender Andrea Ranocchia desperate to get back to the Premier league, Spalletti sees the sales of the aforementioned as a better alternative than off-loading one of the clubs most creative talents.
