Isco warns Real Madrid over Bale

Isco is not messing around. The Real Madrid midfielder’s voice now carries much more importance than it did in the past, and he has established himself as a leader within the dressing room. In fact, the Spaniard has indeed sent a clear message to president Florentino Pérez via his agent: he would find it hard to accept being dropped in favour of Gareth Bale against Barcelona this weekend.

Isco is wary of the fact the Welshman has recently recovered from injury, especially given the fact he is seen as such an important part of the team by Pérez. He was decisive in the Club World Cup semi-final after coming on as a substitute, and there is growing speculation that he could start against Barça on Saturday.

However, Bale himself does not believe he is ready to start such an important match as El Clásico, but this will all depend on what Zinedine Zidane’s tactics are and whether he prefers to play with four central midfielders against the Blaugrana.
