Italia, Maldini is inching closer to replace Oriali as team manager: the latest

Paolo Maldini is the new name for Italy since they are looking for a solid candidate to replace Oriali as FIGC team manager. According to Sky Sport, the ex-Milan captain is inching closer to replace Oriali as team manager as he is one of the leading candidates.

ORIALI SET TO RETURN TO INTER AS MALDINI HAS TO MAKE A DECISION - Gabriele Oriali will leave the FIGC after this summer's Euro Under 21 competition as an Inter return is likely for him. Carlo Tavecchio made Maldini an offer as he now has to make up his mind. If he does accept, this would be Maldini's first footballing job since his retirement from AC Milan back in 2009.

Maldini has been offered numerous positions in the world of football since his retirement but he always turned them down. Milan have been trying to make him return to the club for the past few years without any success as he might now become Italy's new team manager.
