Serie A attacker turns down Everton move

Lazio forward Kieta Balde has turned down a move to Everton, the Liverpool Echo reports.

The Blues’ club scout and director of football Steve Walsh is reportedly pursing players from a number of clubs in Italy, including that of 20-year-old striker Balde.

Names have been mentioned, fuelling the speculation that the Merseyside club will be bringing in a player from Serie A.

Reports are suggesting that the Toffees’ rival club Liverpool have also been linked to the young forward Balde, who has been impressing many clubs with his 16 goals and six recorded assists for Lazio last season.

Reports this morning state that one player Everton made a bid for is Balde, who has just one year left on his contract at Lazio.

Everton are said to have been rejected by the player himself, following Lazio accepting a £26m bid from them. Balde is thought to be holding out for a move to Juventus.
