Italy and Torino sweat over Belotti injury

Torino and Italy star striker Andrea Belotti will undergo medical examination today to understand how serious is knee injury is. The 24-year-old was stretched off in the 85th minute of Torino-Verona yesterday and both the granata and the azzurri fear the player will face a long lay-off.

Torino managed to keep Belotti last summer despite the interest of clubs like Chelsea and AC Milan. The granata have now targeted a qualification for Europa League but the injury of ‘Il Gallo’ could affect their European expectations.

A long lay-off of Belotti could lead to even more trouble for Italy as the azzurri will be playing the World Cup qualifiers play-off in November and the absence of Belotti would make the attacking department of Ventura much weaker.

In the best case scenario, Belotti will remain out of actions for six weeks but in the worst one he could remain on the sidelines for up to three months.
