In the aftermath of the 5-0 victory over Faroe, the Italy coach told a news conference: "The victories boost your moral but this is only the beginning and we can not stop. The guys are enthusiastic and it seems to me that great things are happening in this team. There was a desire to give this National team an identity, before there was something wrong".

"We made a pitch to the people: the players greeted the fans and received applause. We had talked a lot but I did not obligate anyone. Florence is always with me, yesterday was a magical evening in which they all won. It was a special atmosphere, the Florentines have a big heart and showed it.
