Italy, Tommasi: "Tavecchio won't step down..."

Italy failed to beat Sweden two nights ago at the San Siro which means that they won't participate in the 2018 World Cup for the first time since 1958. We recently found out that Giampiero Ventura has been sacked as the FIGC will now look to find a good replacement for him. What will happen to Tavecchio? Here is what Damiano Tommasi (head of the Italian players union) had to say on the matter as he spoke to the Italian press:

"Carlo Tavecchio won't step down. There doesn't seem to be the will to make changes... . He wants to continue on as he doesn't want to resign. As for the others, they will only take their decisions in the future. We need change and sacking Ventura isn't the only solution. Ancelotti? Who knows, I left right away...".

It now remains to be seen what will happen as names such as Ancelotti and Maldini have been talked about a lot over the past few hours.
