Italy-USA, match preview and predicted line-ups

Italy will play against the United States of America in a friendly match this evening, after the Azzurri crashed out of the UEFA Nations League after their 0-0 draw with Portugal on Saturday night. Italy head coach Roberto Mancini will therefore be using tonight’s friendly to test some young players that he has not had the chance to experiment with before.

Italy come into this game with just two wins from their last ten games, a 1-0 win over Poland in October and a 2-1 win over Saudi Arabia in May. Italy drew with Portugal 0-0 on Saturday, sending them out of the UEFA Nations League after a game that was considered a must-win for Mancini’s side.

USA were in a similar boat during the summer, with neither team qualifying for the World Cup in what was somewhat of a shock. The USA have won just 3 in their last 10 games, most recently suffering a 3-0 defeat at the hands of England in a pre-season friendly last week

Predicted line-ups:

Italy (4-3-3): Sirigu; De Sciglio, Bonucci, Rugani, Emerson Palmieri; Barella, Verratti, Sensi; Berardi, Lasagna, Chiesa

USA (4-2-3-1): Horvath; Yedlin, Carter-Vickers, Brooks, Cannon; Acosta, Trapp; Pulisic, Gall, Weah; Sargent.
