Italy World cup winner snubs Crystal Palace to move to Italy second division
Gilardino was available in the market as a free agent and Crystal Palace had also been linked with a move for the 2006 Italy World Cup winner.
The 35-year-old, however, decided to snub a move to England to move to Italy’s Second division instead.
Gilardino has signed a two-year deal with Spezia. The experienced striker has an option to begin his coaching career in the club’s academy once his playing career is over.
Another huge blow for Crystal Palace who hoped to seal the transfer of Gilardino to solve their attacking woes.
