Juve abandon Liverpool star to focus on Man United target

Juventus have decided to abandon their chase of Emre Can and Steven N’Zonzi, at least for the moment.

Why? Because, according to Tuttosport, they’re focussing entirely on nabbing Blaise Matuidi, who is also liked by Manchester United.

The idea is that the French international is cheaper than the other two alternatives, and also because they get on very well with Mino Raiola, his agent. PSG are still asking for €25-30 million for their man, however.

Raiola was set to meet with the Bianconeri recently, having nearly secured a move for the 30-year-old to Turin last summer, only for chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi to block it.

The two sides don’t necessarily get on very well, with the Ligue 1 side raw at the Bianconeri’s nabbing of Kingsley Coman a few season ago, when the Bayern star was only a youth player in PSG’s academy, one without a pro deal.

Matuidi moved to Paris in 2011 for just €8 million, and has become a bit of a club icon, though his role has diminished as of last season.
