EXCLUSIVE ROMANO: Juve, agreement with Gabigol, we unveil the problem behind the deal

A transfer market full of surprises continues and Juventus are at the centre of the major negotiations. Higuain, Dani Alves, Pjanic, Pjaca and Benatia have already arrived in Turin and now the bianconeri are close to bringing in 19-year-old Brazilian Gabigol from Santos. The deal however, is not without its problems for instance, Juve want to bring the player to Serie A then possibly loan him out for a season to Sassuolo, with who they have a great relationship. Gabigol is not keen on this arrangement so another solution is needed.

    AGREEMENT ON THE CONTRACT
Marotta and Paratici have lost no time in negotiating a suitable deal with the players father Valdomir and a contract of 4/5 years, worth €2.5 million per season, is on the table. Gabigol has said yes to these terms and Juve has overcome the first obstacle but there are other issues surrounding this piece of business that are no so easy to overcome.

    THE REAL OBSTACLE
The player is owned by many parties; Santos, his family and the Doyen Group all have a percentage invested in the striker and none of them are willing to reduce the asking price for their man. Doyen has a great relationship with Santos and there is a reluctancy to sell Gabigol until after the Olympic Games when his value is expected to rise. Juventus has made an initial offer of €18 million but the other interested parties in the sale are unhappy with this, preferring to hold out for the original €25 million asking price to divide amongst them. Juve know they need to be patient, they know Gabigol has agreed personal terms but he must now wait to see if Marotta and Paratici decide to increase their offer to meet the €25 million.
