Juve: Allegri desperately wants injured De Sciglio back for Sporting clash

Juventus right back Mattia De Sciglio is rapidly on the mend following his mid-September ankle injury which has seen him miss nine matches. Whether he will be fit enough to take on Sporting Lisbon in their Champions League clash, however, is still up in the air.

Manager Massimiliano Allegri is hopeful that the Milan import – who came to Torino as part of the Leonardo Bonucci transfer – will be ready as his European tournament defensive corps is thin. Allegri erred when he left Stephan Lichtsteiner off the roster. As a result, he’s had to experiment with Stefano Sturaro, which has yielded sub-optimal results.

Allegri seems to be aiming for a return of De Sciglio, but the only question is whether his body will allow him to step back onto the pitch and return to his highest level against one of the stronger teams in Champions League. The match takes place in Portugal on Tuesday.
