Juve bid for De Jong but ‘never’ for Nesta! Inter: Mazzarri + Handanovic

According to English reports, Juventus made a €14M offer to Manchester City for Dutch midfielder Nigel De Jong.

The player will be a free agent in June 2013 and the Citizens are looking to offload him in the summer.

Agent Mino Raiola, who is a good friend of Pavel Nedved, could play a key role in bringing the Dutch ace in Turin.

In Bianconero, De Jong could become the heir of Edgar Davids since they both have Surinamese origins and a Dutch passport...

In the meantime, director Beppe Marotta claimed Juve never approached Alessandro Nesta.

“We never talked about it,” underlined the director, who is clearly in contrast with the revelations made by Andrea Pirlo.

Regardless, Nesta is yet to sign a new contract with Milan and Juventus could be the perfect destination for a defender who still aims to play in Europe.

    • Inter: Mazzarri + Handanovic

The Nerazzurri are yet to define their strategy for the summer and as anticipated by Calciomercato.com, Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri is now in pole position to become the new Inter manager.

President Moratti is still fascinated by Marcelo Bielsa but bringing him to San Siro is proving rather difficult. For this reason, the Italian manager is now the preferred option.

In the meantime, new director of scouts Angeloni is chasing a number of talents and will be looking to sign Samir Handanovic from Udinese.

The Nerazzurri short-list also includes Mauricio Isla and Luis Muriel. On the way out, Inter could let Giampaolo Pazzini, Diego Forlan, Julio Cesar and Douglas Maicon all leave the San Siro.
