Juve need the real Alvaro Morata back in crucial Champions League clash against Bayern

Last Friday he was the first one the leave the J Stadium after the Old Lady had beat Sassuolo 1-0. Morata was not happy at all and looked more nervous than his cheering teammates. Tonight, he will have the chance to cancel all those question marks which have surrounded his season.

The Spaniard has been a bit disappointing this term, at least compared to the great things he showed less than one year ago, but Juventus need the real Alvaro Morata back to get the better of Bayern Munich and make it through the Champions League quarter finals.

Against Sassuolo, both Allegri and Lichtsteiner reprimanded the former Real Madrid starlet for the poor attitude he showed when coming off the bench to replace Paulo Dybala in the 79th minute. Against Bayern he’ll have to fill the Argentinean’s boots from the first minute, trying to cancel a season with not enough highs and too many lows.

A couple of injuries and some personal issues have undermined his consistency this term, but at least for the Allianz Arena clash, the Spanish hit-man has to leave his problems behind and not thinking too much about the future as his former club Real Madrid are ready to bring him back home at the end of the season.

The Spaniard scored two goals in the opening Champions League games against Manchester City and Sevilla FC, while he netted five goals in the last seven Champions League matches played last term. As James Horncastle pointed out, he can be a sort of ‘Bello di Notte’, like Zibi Boniek used to, back in the 80s.

Morata would need to be back at his best to help Juve making it through Europe’s elite tournament quarter finals in the most important game of the season.
