Juve tempted to make offer for Southampton defender

Reports out of England via the Mirror have linked Juventus with a 15 million GBP move for Southampton right back Cedric Soares. The 25 year old Portuguese player is currently under contract with the Premier League team through 2020. The news does not come as a big surprise considering the growing attention towards Chelsea’s massive offer for Alex Sandro on top of the Dani Alves contract rescission. The Bianconeri will be in demand of a quality replacement for both players, and more recently Swiss flyer Stephan Lichtsteiner has also been targeted for departure. Without a doubt Marotta and company will be working busily behind the scenes for immediate alternatives on both defensive flanks.

Cedric Soares is yet another young talented player that the Old Lady have expressed interest in, after Darmian, De Sciglio, Mendy, Danilo, and Cancelo. After a disappointing Champions League defeat, Juve will want to sure up the squad that made it to the finals. But this may be no easy task considering the quality and experience that could be on its way out, especially should Leo Bonucci walk. Soares featured for Southampton in 30 games, completing every match without being substituted, and he is one of the most affordable of the players on Juve’s list for targeted defenders. Depending on Spinazzola and how business goes for Darmian and De Sciglio, the Bianconeri continue their search for a viable Dani Alves replacement.
