According to A Bola, Juventus is looking for a midfielder in Portugal to strengthen the squad and give Massimiliano Allegri a new pawn in the middle of the field. So many names have been mentioned in recent days, and now attention has returned to that of William Carvalho, the 25 year old Portuguese at Sporting Lisbon. He would be one of the pupils of the Juventus coach and, the Old Lady is reported to be in pole for the player. However the Bianconeri need to be weary of Tottenham's concourse, who identified him as a substitute for Eric Dier, their star midfielder who ever closer to transferring to Manchester United.

The defensive midfielder is added to the list of potential midfield reinforcements for Juve, behind N’Zonzi, Matic, and Matuidi. Carvalho’s athleticism and youth give him the edge in covering more of the field than many Juve’s other potentials, but he is still relatively young and untested in Serie A. The Portuguese international is valued around 25 million EUR, and could be an idea for Marotta and company should all others remain difficult to attain.
