Juventus consider buying German defender outright

Despite struggling to gain match fitness after a series of injuries kept him out of action for most of the season so far, it seems Benedikt Höwedes will be given the chance to stay at Juventus for the long-term.

Having arrived on loan from Schalke last summer for a fee of €3.5 million, the Bianconeri intend to sign him on a permanent basis for a further €4-5 million. It seems Juve still have faith in the German, and believe that he can prove to be a valuable asset over the next two or three years.
