    Juventus’ midfielders shortlist revealed

Juventus are going to miss out on key summer target Blaise Matuidi. Giuseppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici will try to make one last attempt with PSG but the French side’s owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi has made crystal clear that the experienced French midfielder is not going to leave the Parc des Princes and could even extend his stay at the club signing a new contract.

With Matuidi set for PSG stay, here there are all the midfielders that Juventus have added on their shortlist. One of them could become the replacement of Paul Pogba.

The names of Axel Witsel and Luiz Gustavo follow Matuidi’s. The Belgium International is only available for € 30 million as Zenit St. Petersburg can afford losing the player in one year time, when Witsel’s Zenit contract will be expired.

The Brazilian midfielder is as expensive as Witsel, not to mention that Juve and Wolfsburg do not appear to be on very good terms after Simone Zaza’s collapsed transfer to the Bundesliga.

Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko has a similar price-tag: € 34 million. The Frenchman can leave the Magpies for that fee and Rafa Benitez does not seem willing to negotiate any other price-tag. The Frenchman will stay at the club if no suitor match his price-tag.

Porto’s Hector Herrera, a former Napoli target,  is the new name on Juventus’ whishlist. Porto are not going to ask less than € 30 million. The Portuguese side could even ask for more given that there are just four days left before the end of the transfer window.

Real Madrid’s Mateo Kovacic remains an option despite Florentino Perez’s reluctance to sell the player one year after his purchase.

What’s for sure is that Juventus are not going to sign a random midfielder as the Old Lady wants to raise her level with completing the signing of a top player.
